Take this list to the viewing, on your phone or printed. Tick what you have checked, note the answer, and at the bottom make a summary you can keep, print or email to yourself. These are exactly the points buyers tend to get stuck on afterwards.
Which house?
What is the DPE? The DPE is the French energy rating, from A (very efficient) to G, and every seller must show it in the listing and hand over the full report. Since 2025 G-rated homes can no longer be let on a new lease, F follows in 2028 and E in 2034, so a low rating is a renovation budget, not a detail. The survey pack explained.
Your summary
Tip: put the open questions to the seller or agent, and always ask for the documents (DPE, diagnostics, taxe foncière bill) rather than a verbal answer.
